Exactly what is rugby football?
This is the essence of our show. A sixty-minute radio program about the history, great characters, nuances (subtle, obtuse and imaginative) and vast growth of rugby throughout the world. The Rugby Hour explores new territory and is very different than the usual dross you might have heard. Listen and learn one more thing you didn't know the day before. Rugby transcends sport - it is social, political, athletic, tragic, dramatic and intellectual. Rugby is indeed a performing art.

The Rugby Hour is produced by John Howe and Kurt Mockenhaupt and originates from Washington, D.C., USA from the Fairfax Public Access radio and television network. The show is cablecast on Cox Communications Cable Channel 7 and 37 and Verizon Cable Channel 37 in Fairfax County, Virginia as well as Comcast Cable Channel 27 in Reston, Virginia. The show is globally webcast streamed on WEBR. The show is streamed live Wednesdays from 8-9am and is now RE-BROADCASTED Tuesdays from Noon to 1pm.

TRH #64:

We find immortal academic and rugby raconteur, Dr. Eamon Harper, having camped in the studio for a fortnight waiting to extend dialog (with an Irish purview) on Round 4 RBS 6 Nations. This week's show also covers John Scally's entertaining "Legends of Irish Rugby, Forty Golden Greats", rugby as fashion faux pas, Euro walkabout for rugby as charity and flatulence (on the pitch) as a professional foul (see www.irb.com/lawregulations).
